Top pet myths could cost you money

Many animal lovers spend thousands of dollars a year caring for their pets, from grooming, to routine visits, to good quality food.

But there are some things we believe about our pets that turn out to be just myths, and could be costing you money.

1. Hypoallergenic?

The pet blog Vetstreet. com, which is run by veterinarians, says pet owners waste millions of dollars buying hypoallergenic, non-shedding dogs and cats.
