Officials search for missing pet cobra in Florida


FORT MYERS, Fla. — The 5-foot snake was last seen crossing a Florida road.

That was according to a call placed to 911 Friday afternoon by a driver, alerting state wildlife officials to the possibility that a cobra was on the loose in Lee County.

Since about 2 p.m. Friday, the FWC and volunteers have been scouring the brush that lines the road in Buckingham, said Officer Stuart Spoede of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.  More
